Construction/Civil Engineer

DWB is seeking applications for a Civil Engineer registered with APEGBC. The position would be based out of our Prince George office. The successful candidate will have a combination of training and experience in the design of bridges, roads and other civil/structural works. Field experience in construction supervision and a working knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code is also desired. The successful candidate will be expected to have project management skills and experience.

CAD Techniciam

DWB is seeking applications for a CAD Technician based at our Prince George office.  The successful candidate(s) will have a combination of training and experience preferably in construction, civil works, structural design/detailing, or mechanical design/detailing.  Field experience in construction supervision, surveying or operating machinery is desirable.  The successful candidate will hold a certificate/diploma from an accredited engineering technology program and be competent in using AutoCAD and/or Civil-3D.  A desire to gain experience in the field on construction projects is necessary. Good working knowledge of standard transportation engineering practices is advantageous.

Environmental Opportunities

 

Intermediate Environmental Professionals

DWB is seeking applications for Intermediate Environmental Professionals proficient in scientific report writing and previous monitoring experience to fill positions in our Fort St. John office.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5-7 years working in forestry, mining, oil and gas, and/or transportation industries with a current professional status in good standing or experienced technologists and must be able to thrive in demanding, fast-paced progressive work environments. Current experiences should include, but are not limited to;

  • Environmental Monitoring for Construction Projects
  • Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) Plans
  • Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP)
  • Proficient identification of fish/wildlife/vegetation
  • Environmental Protection Plans (EPPs).
  • Understanding of environmental policy and regulations
  • Scientific report Writing
  • Liaising with clients.

In addition, the candidate should have strong organization skills, and effective relationship building skills with ability to work longer hours in a physically demanding environment.

Casual Hydroseeder

DWB is seeking applications for a Casual Hydro-seeder in Prince George. The successful candidate will have a valid class 5 BC driver’s license.  In addition, the ideal candidate will have a minimum 1 year field experience filling a hydroseeder with grass seed, water, mulch and sometimes fertilizer) and spraying out over prepared soil.  The successful candidate may be expected to operate company vehicles and will be expected to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Timber Cruisers/Forest Professionals

DWB is seeking applications for Forest Professionals (RPFs and/or Forest Technologists) in Chetwynd. The successful candidate will be registered with ABCFP and have a valid class 5 BC driver’s license.  In addition, the ideal candidate will have a combination of training and field experience in timber cruising, GPSing, road and block layout with a minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred.  The successful candidate may be expected to operate company vehicles and will be expected to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

Mapping Opportunities

 

GIS (Geographic Information System) Technician - Lac La Hache

DWB is seeking applications for GIS Technician proficient with ESRI products in our head office at Lac La Hache. 

 Successful candidates will have a minimum of 2-3 years in resource sector including forestry, mining, oil and gas, and/or transportation industries with a current professional status with strong attention to detail and good written and oral communication skills.    The successful candidate must be able to thrive in demanding, fast-paced progressive work environment.

The successful candidate must be proficient and demonstrate strong ability but not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Generate, edit, and maintain topologically correct geospatial data in an ESRI ArcGIS environment.
  • Extract and convert geospatial data to be used in a multitude of formats that will aid in the workflows of field staff.
  • Implement field staff data into a standardized geospatial environment, congruent with specific standards.
  • Create and maintain geospatial models and scripts to improve efficiencies and standardize workflows using ArcGIS Modelbuilder and Python.
  • Design, improve, and maintain standardized mapping documents and geospatial data.
  • Build strong relationships.
  • Rely on organization skills to meet project deadlines.

In addition, the candidate must be:

  • Knowledgeable of GPS collection and post-processing procedures
  • Knowledgeable  of cartographic principles
  • Knowledgeable of autocad; microstation, MS office.
