Safety at DWB...

DWB has set high safety standard for all its employees. We have an excellent safety record and have regular safety meetings to discuss relevant issues.

We are registered as a 'Safe Certified Company' with the BC Forest Safety Council and ISNetworld, and have a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Plan. The Safe Company Certification requires a rigorous third party auditing system andregular internal checks and reporting systems.

All DWB field staff are required to have a valid Level 1 First Aid certificate. In addition, employees also receive any safety training required for their job and responsibilities. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Transportation Endorsement;
  • S100 Fire Suppression;
  • Electrofishing Certificate;
  • Swift Water Rescue;
  • H2S Alive;
  • Bear Aware;
  • ATV Safety;
  • WHIMIS/MSDS;
  • Environmental Management Systems (EMS);
  • Pleasure Craft Operators Certificate;
  • Jet Boat Operation;
  • Confined Spaces; and
  • Ground Disturbance Level 1.

All required safety equipment is provided to our staff depending on the project and standards required.

We believe that the health and safety of our employees is the highest priority. All employees must remind themselves daily that no job is so urgent that we cannot take the time to do it safely.
